well, actually buildd ignore the BD alternatives, always trying the first BD.
But the following should be better :
libluajit-5.1-dev [!s390x !alpha !hppa !ia64 !m68k !powerpcspe !sh4 !sparc64] |
liblua5.1-0-dev
based on the current support of luajit.

I see that the changelog mentions "Build with libluajit-5.1-dev instead
of liblua5.1-0-dev if installed."
But looking at the logs it seems not to follow that and d/control lists
the lua Build-Depends in that order :
