I agree that this is a better syntax.

/pkg/foo is already a "source" lookup so it would be confusing to
introduce a "/pkg/src:foo" lookup. But we can add a query parameter,
like "/pkg/foo?fallback=none" to implement this.

I'm cloning my main point, which is slightly different, into a
separate bug.

It should not be too hard to implement a src: syntax that disables the
"if no source package is found try to find a binary package with that
name" fallback for special cases where an error page is better than
this fallback.

This could then be used from packages.qa.d.o, and later from the
src: pages in the BTS.

Fine. Let's record this as a wishlist then. Patches welcome as usual.

It might even be not too hard to implement. For example by checking the
number of associated news before deciding that we want to consider a
binary lookup...

I use the PTS feature of looking up historical source packages quite a
lot, so it would be a shame if it went away with the transition to the
tracker.

The only "ancient" data that can be kept is the list of news. I'm
not interested in showing old news of packages which are no longer in
Debian at all.

http://tracker.debian.org/pkg/ is the canonical URL for a given
source package.

If the source packages does not exist (as is the case here), we still
have a nice fallback to redirect to the source package that contains
a binary package of the same name.

You could argue that returning an HTTP 404 would be better but I don't
think so.

It does exist in an old release, see
  https://packages.qa.debian.org/n/nxproxy.html

This is a regression from packages.qa.d.o to tracker.d.o
