This issue got fixed after upgrading nvidia package to 290.10-1 (the problem was on 290.06-1).

Bug#650207: kde: Recently used menu entry doesn't work

Package: kdebase-workspace Version: 4:4.6.5-3 Severity: normal File: kde In the app launcher menu configuration I select the Recently used option, and it shows up on the menu. But for some reason, it disappears after I restart KDE. It's as if the configuration wasn't getting saved to disk. But if
