Hi,
I tried the following: install the french localisation package
(kde-l10n-fr), remove the config file
(~/.kde/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml), set the preferred language
to french, and re-login; but the behaviour was exactly the same with french
language.
I found a possibly related KDE
