After a recent update of my machines, I have been unable to lock my screen.

I suppose I did have to set it up. I don't remember setting anything up for
signing messages in the older version of kmail however. Was it already set up

the old version of kmail?

I have a problem with kontact at logon. When you logoff from a session without
closing kontact first, and then log back on, I get the standard prompt from
kwallet and another prompt stating the following.
