Bug#1031078: qt6-speech-dev: library libqtexttospeech_mock.so referenced but not provided

2023-02-11 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: qt6-speech-dev
Version: 6.4.2-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

When I try to build a project containing this line:

  find_package(Qt6 COMPONENTS TextToSpeech REQUIRED)

The configure fails like this:

CMake Error at
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/Qt6TextToSpeech/Qt6QTextToSpeechMockPluginTargets.cmake:96
 (message):
The imported target "Qt6::QTextToSpeechMockPlugin" references the file

"/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt6/plugins/texttospeech/libqtexttospeech_mock.so"

but this file does not exist. Possible reasons include:

  * The file was deleted, renamed, or moved to another location.

  * An install or uninstall procedure did not complete successfully.

  * The installation package was faulty and contained

"/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/Qt6TextToSpeech/Qt6QTextToSpeechMockPluginTargets.cmake"

but not all the files it references.

Call Stack (most recent call first):

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/Qt6TextToSpeech/Qt6QTextToSpeechMockPluginConfig.cmake:61

  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/Qt6/QtPublicPluginHelpers.cmake:439 (include)

Concretely, the pacakge I try to build is hyperborg, available here:

This was fixed in Ghostscript since release 9.53.3~dfsg-6 - I just

Oh, of course - makes perfect sense re-reading it again now.

It is _not_ important that I be mentioned in changelog: I only reacted
because I (wrongly) saw it as someone else got fame for my my (tiny!)
contribution here. Sorry for the noise, and have a nice Sunday.

Great that you collected that dataset, and put it public.

What would help further would be for such information having references
to sources, and each information point be referencable (not only the
dataset as a whole).

In other words, your data gets 2 stars: https://5stardata.info/en/

I maintain https://wiki.debian.org/CheapServerBoxHardware and have for a
long time wanted to make that 5-star data (currently that has 3 stars).
Would be great to include your dataset in that, but I would then need to
know the sources for the datapoints to be able to verify. Also, ideal
would be that you maintain your dataset yourself as 5-star reusable data
instead of me needing to maintain a fork.

A user-visible benefit of 5-star data is the possibility for not only
browsing it as tabular data, but also navigating multiple dimensions
e.g. like https://kumu.io/DigLife/digital-life-collective#our-network

Please tell me if interested in helping out, and I will provide concrete
examples of how to optimally organize data, as soon as I get it
documented for my own work.

Bug#903126: minimu libvpx version?

This involves no change in libvpx, but a change in Chromium to no longer
rely on some private headers of libvpx.

So if anything, some existing versioning constraint should be _dropped_.

Would be awesome if upstream would stop embed Chromium and instead
somehow probe which release of Chromium shared libraries would be needed
- but as you no doubt are aware already, that is unlikely to happen.
Details about when the change happened in chromium is already referenced
in the header of my previously attached patch.

Hope that helps.

Bug#903126: qtwebengine-opensource-src: links with embedded libvpx code copy

2018-07-06 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Source: qtwebengine-opensource-src
Version: 5.10.1+dfsg-4
Severity: important

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

qtwebengine-opensource-src build-depends on libvpx-dev, but makes no use
of it.

libvpx is used with the embedded Chromium, which in the past relied on
experimental libvpx headers, but this was change several years ago, just
not corrected in the configure check of qtwebengine-opensource-src.

Attached patch addresses the configure check. To ensure that system lib
is used (failing build instead of silently using embedded code copy),
additionally "config_args" in debian/rules should declare
"-feature-webengine-system-libvpx".

On a related note, several more "-feature-*" should probably be added to
ensure avoidance of the various other embedded code copies.

Description: Fix use system shared libvpx library
QTWebengine checks before build if system shared libvpx library works.
 .
Previously the embedded code copy of Chromium depended on experimental
parts of libvpx, but that was later discovered to be unneeded and code
 adapted since September 2016:
 <https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=575651>
 .
Apparently QTwebengine simply missed that change and didn't adapt its
 checks accordingly.
