Hi, I had same problem too on Linux 3.4.28-2.20-desktop i686
openSUSE 12.2 (i586) KDE: 4.10.1 release 552
for now the trouble seems solved
Mail of Luca Pertile suggested me to check system settings of KDE.
I tried to make changes on desktop and icons themes
then I rebooted and now klipper icon

no, sorry, this doesn't work. If you missed the screenshot attached to my
comment: the entry is not there at all. I'm beginning to think that this is
not a problem with Klipper, but that the system get's stuck at loading
programs at some part. Because Klipper is loaded as one of the last

Hi,
If you right clic on the icons to configure the icon box, you can adjust the
visibility of the icons in the tab « Entry ». You should be able to always
display the klipper icon this way.
Please let me know if it helps to recover the missing icon.
