The attached patch is a backport of the upstream fix from here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342567 https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/129030/ It is necessary for imap connections. I primary reported the patches here https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=797844#33 but was told on irc to file separate bug reports. I tested this patch for some weeks on my system without any issues. Pleas let me know if you have any questions.
