Uploading linux (4.7.5-1)

2016-09-24 Thread Ben Hutchings
I intend to upload linux version 4.7.5-1 to unstable on Sunday or
Monday.  There's no ABI bump.

Aside from the upstream stable updates, the currently pending changes
include:
- [hppa, mips*,powerpc*] linux-image: Strip debug symbols from vmlinux

We may queue up some more bug fixes before I upload.

Ben.

It looks like everything's transitioned.

That looks okay, but please could we have a source debdiff for the
proposed upload, as built and hopefully tested on jessie.

Bug#838780: jessie-pu: package irssi/0.8.17-1+deb8u1

2016-09-24 Thread Rhonda D'Vine
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
Tags: jessie

  Hi,

after the security update of irssi another report came in about a
script included in irssi, buf.pl. If it's loaded and an /upgrade of
irssi is done the current buffer content is written to a temporary file
which didn't use tightly secured file permissions to temporarily store
the buffer content for re-reading it after re-execing irssi.

The patch that upstream provides is this:
https://github.com/irssi/scripts.irssi.org/commit/f1b1eb154baa684fad5d65bf4dff79c8ded8b65a

I uploaded it to unstable already and would like to push it to stable,
too.

 Thanks in advance,
Rhonda

Please go ahead, with the changelog distribution set to "jessie".

I'll hopefully be able to find a suitable machine on my work network to
test with, and I assume at least Lars Maes would also be happy to test.
