Hello guys,

The project[3] is to benchmark some scientific packages distributed
by Debian. However the scope of "scientific packages" is way too
wide -- there are so many packages maintained by Debian Science
team, which means we need to focus on "valuable" software subjects.

My friend and I are trying to do a pre-study[1] for this project,
intended to figure out some "valuable software subjects".

In that WIP repo[1], there are quick and hacky results for 2 packages
available. And we want to hear your voice before continuing
working on it -- Ideas, patches and comments are welcome! [2]

e.g.

* What package do you expect to see in the list of cadidates?
  Why and how should we test it?

I think our work will continue even if the GSoC project didn't
find a mentor finally ... But if you feel interested in the
GSoC project, and competent as a mentor, please don't hesitate
to step forward. :-)
