Hello guys, The project[3] is to benchmark some scientific packages distributed by Debian. However the scope of "scientific packages" is way too wide -- there are so many packages maintained by Debian Science team, which means we need to focus on "valuable" software subjects.
My friend and I are trying to do a pre-study[1] for this project, intended to figure out some "valuable software subjects". In that WIP repo[1], there are quick and hacky results for 2 packages available. And we want to hear your voice before continuing working on it -- Ideas, patches and comments are welcome! [2] e.g. * What package do you expect to see in the list of cadidates? Why and how should we test it? I think our work will continue even if the GSoC project didn't find a mentor finally ... But if you feel interested in the GSoC project, and competent as a mentor, please don't hesitate to step forward. :-) Thank you.
