Re: [RFS] Meshlab

2020-03-23 Thread Ryan Pavlik
All,

Thanks to Gürkan Myczko for the review. I've uploaded those changes to
salsa.

Additionally, I have uploaded a new revision fixing an appstream
warning: https://mentors.debian.net/package/meshlab

However, I am still uncertain about https://bugs.debian.org/953062 as my
recent update to that bug explains. If anyone is familiar with the
process of packaging an app that uses Qt and desktop OpenGL (thus cannot
be built for armel/armhf), I'd appreciate any insight there.

Thanks!

Ryan

[RFS] Meshlab

2020-03-16 Thread Ryan Pavlik
The current version has some FTBFS, some DFSG issues, as well as an
issue with installing but not actually running. I've prepared an updated
version, which has a newer upstream (release instead of snapshot) that
has been repacked to exclude the DFSG-problematic files, and that is
also overall fixed up a bit (copyright file more accurate and up to
date, repeatable generation of "upstream" tarball, patch to fix a plugin
broken by removal of DFSG-violation, etc.) It is the package whose
upload would fix all the issues in the BTS marked as pending.

It's ready for review and sponsorship:

https://mentors.debian.net/package/meshlab
https://salsa.debian.org/rpavlik-guest/meshlab

(I was accepted into the team gitlab group, but out of courtesy I didn't
push my changes to the team repo yet because they hadn't been reviewed.)

Thanks!

Ryan

This is one of the new features the UDD based code for the tasks

(yet) moved to official UDD (but will probably quite soon).

Comments are welcome

Above is RFS for meshlab. Is anyone looking into sponsoring it? Can't
 wait to apt-get install it.

Hi Dima,

Your wish is (hopefully) soon fulfilled. Yaroslav Halchenko sponsored
this package last week and it is currently waiting for final checks at
the NEW queue (http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html)

I you need the package now, you can try building meshlab yourself from
a git checkout.
