I can reproduce this bug on Wheezy (gnuplot 4.6.0-8):
$ unset DISPLAY; echo 'plot sin(x); exit' | gnuplot
With gnuplot 4.6.4-1~bpo70+1 the segfault goes away,
it just says Failed to initialize wxWidgets and exits,
so I think it's OK.
