gazebo 7.10 is going to be released in a few days and it will ship the fix:

Hi
I just applied the upstream patch in raspbian. The patch to the sourcecode
applied fine but the patch to the buildsystem had to be applied manually.
A debdiff of what I uploaded to Raspbian is attatched, no intent to NMU in
Debian.
