Just to clarify: The patch hasn't been merged to upstream yet, so we'll
still have to patch manually, even in the rc.

thanks for the bug-report and the patch. Xdmf3-source was
dropped from Debian for vtk6_6.2.0, so I am not able to
apply the patch. But it looks like release candidate of vtk6
is already available. So your patch will be there.
