Hi Adrian and Gregor, Thank you both for your help. I don't actually have the 2nd CPU installed yet so instead grabbed: linux-image-4.19.0-5-sparc64_4.19.37-6_sparc64.deb This does indeed seem to be more stable. vsftpd hasn't crashed on installation and openssh is also installing now. Thank

Also got a kernel panic with vsftpd. Is this with the SMP kernel? You should try the normal one first, it works very stable on my V215. I get crashes all over the the place with the SMP kernel. Unfortunately, that means you'll only have one CPU available...
