Missing libs???
Dear list, an installer for an external apps is telling me of missing extensions. These are "glx_sgix_fbconfig" and "glx_sgix_pbuffer". As far as I could explore, these are NVidia related libs and belong to some packages named "glew". As I am using an old NVidia card, which is running 340xx-legacy, I am not sure, if thius is an extension, the card and the driver is related to, or if this is an external lib, which can be installed manually. Does someone know more to these libs mentioned above? I saw a these libs mentioned in the source package of debian called "glew", but I found no binary package called "glew", just "glew-utils" or "libglew". Note, I am running debian/stable, so it might be available in testing or unstable - however packages.debian.org did not know any package called "glew" or "glx_sgix-*". Thanks for any enlightening! Best regards Hans
Re: ot: staroffice5.2 and missing libs
Hi Sebastiaan, One of them is: libgo569li.so I reinstalled, searched my harddisk for the lib, but I was unable to find it. Does anyone know which package contains these libs? ...sorry but these are libarys from staroffice itself: /home/joris/office52/program/libgo569li.so did you install star-office as root? if so - install it as user!! then it works. These libarys don't come with debian!! regards joris -- Joris Mocka, Leiter Abt. IuK SBF Gruppe Tel: +49 211 20 99 51 31 Steinhof 51 Fax: +49 211 20 99 51 88 D-40699 Erkrath http://www.sbf.de
Re: staroffice5.2 and missing libs
Hello! I couldn't find any of those files in the debian distribution (searched in contents of the distro on http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages). I know that probably doesn't help you very much, but I have no idea where those libs come from... at least you know now that they aren't from any free debian package - could only be in non-free or non-us, perhaps because I don't know if they are included in the search. Hope this helps a little bit :) Kind Regards, Stepan Hachinger - Original Message - From: Sebastiaan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: debian-user@lists.debian.org Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 11:23 PM Subject: ot: staroffice5.2 and missing libs Hi, I had installed staroffice a couple of months ago and everything worked fine. I was responding to this question earlier. You need xlib6g and probably xlib6. On Wed, Dec 01, 1999 at 07:35:22PM -0700, Robert L. Harris wrote: It appears I need libXext.so.6 for my X now. The best way to find out which packages contain the files you need is to use the Search the Contents of the Latest Release search engine at http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages.html. In this case for the stable release it returns: FILE PACKAGE - usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 x11/xlib6g usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.3x11/xlib6g usr/lib/libc5-compat/libXext.so.6 oldlibs/xlib6 usr/lib/libc5-compat/libXext.so.6.3 oldlibs/xlib6 HTH, Brian Servis -- Mechanical Engineering | Never criticize anybody until you Purdue University | have walked a mile in their shoes, [EMAIL PROTECTED] | because by that time you will be a http://www.ecn.purdue.edu/~servis | mile away and have their shoes.
