Je crois que "local" signifie que le système n'est capable que
d'envoyer du mail pour la machine locale (e.g. pour "cron").

Sur ma machine à mon labo, j'ai

dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet'

Si le but est d'utiliser un port de soumission, je ne sais pas
faire avec exim (j'utilise postfix sur mes autres machines).

Bonjour,
Et pourquoi ne pas tout simplement exécuter un « dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config 
» ? Il vous pose toutes les questions nécessaires à une bonne configuration et 
génère en général de façon tout à fait correcte l’ensemble des fichiers de 
configuration.
