All patches of the Debian packaging have been submitted upstream. Due to the large size (and sometimes potentially disruptive nature) it might take a while to get them reviewed, and hopefully included in the upstream source tree.
However, if this is done, we are almost ready to submit AFNI for inclusion into Debian -- just 3.5 years later!
