Bug#913826: ITP: presto -- high-throughput lymphocyte receptor sequences processing

2018-11-15 Thread Steffen Moeller
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Steffen Moeller

* Package name: presto
  Version : 0.5.2
* URL : https://pypi.org/project/presto/
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : high-throughput lymphocyte receptor sequences processing

pRESTO is a toolkit for processing raw reads from high-throughput
sequencing of B cell and T cell repertoires.

Dramatic improvements in high-throughput sequencing technologies now enable
large-scale characterization of lymphocyte repertoires, defined as the
collection of trans-membrane antigen-receptor proteins located on the surface
of B cells and T cells. The REpertoire Sequencing TOolkit (pRESTO) is composed
of a suite of utilities to handle all stages of sequence processing prior to
germline segment assignment. pRESTO is designed to handle either single reads
or paired-end reads. It includes features for quality control, primer masking,
annotation of reads with sequence embedded barcodes, generation of unique
molecular identifier (UMI) consensus sequences, assembly of paired-end reads
and identification of duplicate sequences. Numerous options for sequence
sorting, sampling and conversion operations are also included.

The package is about it appear on

Bug#913828: ITP: recastnavigation -- Navigation-mesh Toolset for Games

2018-11-15 Thread Bret Curtis
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Bret Curtis

* Package name: recastnavigation
  Version : 1.5.1
  Upstream Author : Ben Hymers
* URL : https://github.com/recastnavigation/recastnavigation
* License : Zlib
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Navigation-mesh Toolset for Games

Recast is state of the art navigation mesh construction toolset for games.
Recast is accompanied with Detour, a path-finding and spatial reasoning
toolkit.
You can use any navigation mesh with Detour, but of course the data generated
with Recast fits perfectly.

The package is useful because it is already used in many editors such as
Unity and Unreal Editor and as a result used in many AAA games.

It is also used in OpenMW, the open world RPG engine.

I plan on maintaining the package along with upstream developers on salsa along
with the other packages I maintain. If there are others that would like to help,
great!

I'm looking for a sponsor to help review and upload when ready.

Cheers,
Bret Curtis

Bug#365427: Autotests for apt-build utility

2018-11-15 Thread Коля Гурьев
I intend to do some refactoring of apt-build, but first I'd like to
write autopkgtests for the package. I have two versions of a simple test
case for install command, and I still can't decide what language use for
tests. In attachment you'll find two identical scripts in Bash and Perl.
Comments are welcome!

It'd be good to write full tests before new year and buster freeze.

To be clear: I'm not going to adopt the package yet, because I'm unsure
that I have enough time for this work.

  Description : Open Source Neural Networks in C
 Darknet is an open source neural network framework written in C and CUDA.
 It is fast, easy to install, and supports CPU and GPU computation.

BTW I plan to just packaging the CPU support of darknet, because CUDA
isn't open source.

Bug#864079: ITP: backuppc-rsync -- rsync optimised for BackupPC backup utility

2018-11-15 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi,

Tobias Frost wrote:
> Yes, we're are on it (however, I hoped to dedicate a bit more time to
> this week)

Before creating a VCS repo for it: I wonder why the package is ITP'ed
as "backuppc-rsync" despite upstream calls the software "rsync-bpc".

Shouldn't we name the package then "rsync-bpc", too?

Next question wrt. to packaging it, is: Which version to package?

The only released versions seem to be based upon rsync 3.0.9 (last
included in Debian 7 Wheezy) while rsync itself is at 3.1.2 now. In
the master branch there seems to be a version which has currently the
working title 3.1.2.beta0.

So shall we start with 3.0.9.12 or 3.1.2.beta0? (I tend to stay on the
safe side and start with 3.0.9.12, but then we at least should try to
apply all security updates against rsync 3.0.9 in Wheezy.)

Regards, Axel

I intend to orphan the vgabios package.

The package description is:
 The goal of this project is to provide a Video BIOS for Bochs and Qemu.
 This VGA BIOS is very specific to the bochs/qemu emulated VGA card.
 .
 WARNING: It is NOT meant to drive a physical vga card. You will probably
 fry it if you try. You have been warned.

QEMU does not use it anymore, it switched to vga bios implementation
provided by seabios (seavgabios) which is actively maintained.
vgabios was used by bochs but it is now orphaned too.

Thanks,

/mjt

Antimony is a computer-aided design (CAD) tool from a parallel universe in
which CAD software evolved from Lisp machines rather than drafting tables.

Antimony is built on three mostly-orthogonal axes:
  - A framework for tracking information flow through directed acyclic graphs
  - A geometry engine for doing CSG
  - A standard library of shapes and transforms

Bug#913792: ITP: ruby-data-migrate -- migrate data alongside schema changes for rake tasks

2018-11-15 Thread 李健秋
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: =?utf-8?b?QW5kcmV3IExlZSAo5p2O5YGl56eLKQ==?=

* Package name: ruby-data-migrate
  Version : 3.2.2
  Upstream Author : Ilya Katz
* URL : https://github.com/ilyakatz/data-migrate
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Ruby
  Description : migrate data alongside schema changes for rake tasks

This data_migrate gem provides data migrations alongside schema
migrations for rake tasks.
.
Data migrations are stored in db/data. They act like schema migrations,
except they should be reserved for data migrations.
.
For instance, if you realize you need to titleize all yours titles,
this is the place to do it. Running any of the provided rake tasks
also creates a data schema table to mirror the usual schema migrations
table to track all the goodness.

- This is required in open-build-service 2.9.

* Package name: libinfluxdb-lineprotocol-perl

  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : write and read InfluxDB LineProtocol

 The InfluxDB time series database (since version 0.9) uses a LineProtocol
 to write time series data into the database. InfluxDB::LineProtocol makes
 it possible to generate such a line from a data-structure, handling all
 the annoying escaping and sorting. It can also be used to parse a line
 (perhaps produced by other code) so that it can be further modified.

This package is useful when wanting to interact via Perl with an InfluxDB
instance.

Attached a working and tested packaging, where only the ITP bug number
needs to be filled in the debian/changelog, Maintainer changed, Version
bumper to a proper -1, and Vcs fields added if appropriate.

Thanks,
Guillem

amtk is a basic replacement for GTK+'s deprecated GtkUIManager class,
based on GAction. It is suitable for either a traditional UI with
a GtkMenuBar, GtkToolbar and GtkStatusbar, or a modern UI with a
GtkHeaderBar and a "hamburger menu".

---

Updating devhelp to version 3.30 requires amtk. It should probably be
maintained by the GNOME team.

I might package this myself if time permits, but I'm filing this as RFP
rather than ITP for now, to have a bug number for the reason we can't
update devhelp yet.

Net::OAuth2::AuthorizationServer is the gateway to the various OAuth2 grant
flows, as documented at https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6749. Each module
implements a specific grant flow and is designed to "just work" with minimal
detail and effort.

  Description : simple Perl interface to Google Protocol Buffers

Upstream description:

"Google Protocol Buffers is a data serialization format. It is binary
(and hence compact and fast for serialization) and as extendable as
ML; its nearest analogues are Thrift and ASN.1. There are official
mappings for C++, Java and Python languages; this library is a mapping
for Perl."

There are many libraries for protobuf in Debian for many languages, but
none for Perl. Need it in $dowstream as well, so unless there are
objections I'll upload sometimes later this week.

  Description : converts wildcard expressions to Perl regular expressions

(as created by dh-make-perl)

 In many situations, users may want to specify patterns to match but don't
 need the full power of regexps. Wildcards make one of those sets of
 simplified rules. Regexp::Wildcards converts wildcard expressions to Perl
 regular expressions, so that you can use them for matching.
 .
 It handles the * and ? jokers, as well as Unix bracketed alternatives {,},
 but also % and _ SQL wildcards. If required, it can also keep original (...)
 groups or ^ and $ anchors. Backspace (\) is used as an escape character.
 .
 Typesets that mimic the behaviour of Windows and Unix shells are also
 provided.

  Description : helps one to read a latin phrase in a "natural" way

 William G. Hale (1849-1928) explained in "The Art Of Reading Latin"
 principles of such a "natural" way of reading latin sentences, which is
 radically different of the way of reading our modern languages.

 - this package enriches Debian with a tool to study latin language
   it is a good fellow for the packages collatinus and felix-latin already
   available in Debian.

 - I shall maitain it on the behalf of my friend Yves Ouvrard, the packaging
   work is in salsa.debian.org

  Description : QR Code generator library in multiple languages
 This project aims to be the best, clearest QR Code generator library in
 multiple languages. The primary goals are flexible options and absolute
 correctness. Secondary goals are compact implementation size and good
 documentation comments. Core features:
  * Available in 7 programming languages, all with nearly equal functionality:
Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C++, C, Rust
  * Significantly shorter code but more documentation comments compared to
competing libraries
  * Supports encoding all 40 versions (sizes) and all 4 error correction levels,
as per the QR Code Model 2 standard
  * Output formats: Raw modules/pixels of the QR symbol (all languages), SVG XML
string (all languages except C), BufferedImage raster bitmap (Java only),
HTML5 canvas (JavaScript and TypeScript only)
  * Encodes numeric and special-alphanumeric text in less space than general
text
  * Open source code under the permissive MIT License

This library transforms any Lua value into a human-readable
representation. It is especially useful for debugging errors in tables.

The objective here is human understanding (i.e. for debugging), not
serialization or compactness.

I'd like this to be packaged, since it will be a test requirement for

  Description : falling blocks game with many different game modes

Galois is a computer game of the "falling blocks" type, but with
unique features. Unlike most other games of that type, it is not
limited to blocks made of four two-dimensional, square bricks: you can
choose among several different brick shapes, blocks composed of more
or fewer bricks, and even between two- and three-dimensional games.

This package may replace ghextris which will possibly be removed from
Debian because it depends on python-gtk2 which is going away. But even
if ghextris is saved, I think Galois would be a valuable addition on
its own, as it has many game modes that no other Tetris-like game has.

I am the upstream author and I commit to support the Debian package
too. I need sponsoring and plan to seek it from the Debian Games team
-- I've already written to debian-devel-games and got encouraging
feedback.

Fwiw, I would personally focus on packaging the client first.
Seeing that the repo at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/nextcloud-client
is still empty, I wanted to ask about the current state of this ITP again.

Michael
