Subject: ITP: ragout -- Reference-Assisted Genome Ordering UTility
Package: wnpp
Owner: Andreas Tille
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ragout
  Version : 2.1.1
Upstream Author : Mikhail Kolmogorov and Joel Armstrong and
* URL : https://github.com/fenderglass/Ragout/
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Reference-Assisted Genome Ordering UTility
Ragout (Reference-Assisted Genome Ordering UTility) is a tool for
chromosome-level scaffolding using multiple references. Given initial
assembly fragments (contigs/scaffolds) and one or multiple related
references (complete or draft), it produces a chromosome-scale assembly
 (as a set of scaffolds).
 .
The approach is based on the analysis of genome rearrangements (like
inversions or chromosomal translocations) between the input genomes and
reconstructing the most parsimonious structure of the target genome.
 .
Ragout now supports both small and large genomes (of mammalian scale
and complexity). The assembly of highly polymorphic genomes is
 currently limited.

Remark: This package is maintained by Debian Med Packaging Team at
   https://salsa.debian.org/med-team/ragout

Bug#923605: ITP: dhcpoptinj -- DHCP option injector

2019-03-26 Thread Andreas Misje
> Yes, you'll have to convert it to a non-native package.

I gave that a try. I've tried following all guidelines, so if I've
done something the wrong way I'll get around to fix whatever issues as
soon as possible. I'd like to do packaging as correct as possible so
that I can contribute to other projects.

I've ignored the Lintian info output. I can bump the standards and
debhelper versions if need be, but my impression is that this is not
necessary. Whether I should bother with a testsuite I honestly don't
know.

> And yes, you can host your upstream project on salsa, if you don't have
> a guest account yet, you can register one at:

Cheers! I thought guest accounts did not have permission to add
projects. If you'd like me to move dhcpoptinj-deb to salsa (and
subsequently update the package with new vcs-git URIs) I'll do that.
By the way, if I do this, or any other change to the package, do I
create another package revision or just force-upload 0.4.4-1, since
this is a new, unuploaded package anyway?

ITP: gpuowl 5.0 - Package now obsolete

2019-03-26 Thread Valerio Bellizzomi/SEL-ROC
Dear wnpp,
the package I originally created at
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=915704
is now obsolete because new version of the program has been released.

After 109 days the package has not yet been picked up for review.

The gpuowl program is now at version 6.3, I haven't the time to maintain
further the package.

Greetings.

2019-03-26 Thread Jonathan Carter
Hi Andreas

Yes, you'll have to convert it to a non-native package.

And yes, you can host your upstream project on salsa, if you don't have
a guest account yet, you can register one at:

https://signup.salsa.debian.org/

Bug#731599: Licensing of locfit

2019-03-26 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Andy,

once we had a discussion about the licensing restriction of locfit.
I'd like to point your attention to a Github issue about this:

   https://github.com/chairmank/locfit/issues/1

While it seems that Steve M. Kim (user name chairmank on Github) has
simply copied the code to Github that might be some place to join the
effort to find the original copyright holder Catherine Loader and
clarify the license.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

Then rebuild libpdal-dev, then rebuild cloudcompare, and you have a
cloudcompare that can

open LAZ files.
