Bug#272165: RFA: liferea -- RSS News Aggregator for GNOME2

2004-09-17 Thread christophe barbe
Package: wnpp

I am looking for someone to take over my liferea package. It's a nice app and
upstream is actively working on it.

The package description is:
 Liferea is a simple FeedReader clone for GNOME2. It is a reader for
 RSS/RDF feeds which also supports CDF channels, Atom/Echo/PIE feeds and
 OCS directories. The problem with FeedReader: for now its only available
 for Windows. There are some projects for GNU/Linux, but no solution for
 GTK/GNOME, which does not require Python or Perl.

Fellow DD's,

I'm putting the Snort packages up for adoption.

I no longer have the time to package new upstream versions, fix the
problems that are pending and find a girlfriend...

But, thanks to the many help from other Debian folks, the Snort packages
have become what they are today. In comparison to the packages in
stable, quite an improvement!

Now I need someone with bright, new ideas, a view for the future and
some spare time. So that's probably someone who is married. ;))

The package has a lot of bugs assigned to it, but alot of these bugs are
fixed in the current Sid packages and are maintained purely for
archiving purposes. The 'Serious Policy Violation' bug is caused by
changed Build-Depends.

First one to reply to this post on this list takes the packages! :)

Thanks,
Sander.

 The package is really good -- see the RFP:

 I hope it's useful to you.

I knew Charles Wikner, he was a member of our mailing list. I will
definitely consider packaging it. I was also thinking of packaging
ITRANS, which is a preprocessor that takes transliterated forms for Indian
languages and outputs TeX, Postscript etc.

Both of these projects will probably have to wait until sarge is released
as I'm busy with other things at the moment.

Bug#272173: RFP: latex-sanskrit -- latex support for devanagari and transliterated sanskrit

2004-09-17 Thread Jeronimo Pellegrini
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: latex-sanskrit
  Version : 2.2
  Upstream Author : Charles Wikner
* URL : http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/sanskrit/
* License : LaTeX Project Public License
  Description : latex support for devanagari and transliterated sanskrit

Latex-sanskrit consists of a preprocessor and fonts to display Sanskrit
in LaTeX documents. The Sanskrit text can be displayed either
transliterated or in devanagari script, including vedic accents. Sanskrit
is entered as argument to LaTeX macros, so it is still possible to use the
inputenc package to get yet another encoding mixed with the text (for
example, ISO-8859-1 with latin accents).

The fonts include over a thousand consonant ligatures, and the
documentation has a Samyoga table telling from where each ligature was
taken (Panini, Coulson, and other fonts). All fonts (devanagari and
transliterated) are available in standard, bold and italic faces, and
the spacing between devanagari characters may be adjusted.

However, his work is excellent, and makes typesetting Sanskrit very
easy; the fonts included look very good; the package has excellent
documentation. At least for me, makes Unicode irrelevant.

There are only a few details in the C program that are rather easy to fix:

while(strlen(infilename) == 0)
   { printf(Input file: ); scanf(infilename); }
printf(Output file: );
scanf(outfilename);

This may loop forever if compiled with gcc-3.3, and can be fixed by
including the format string in scanf (but it would actually be better to check
the program and eliminate the possibility for buffer overflows).

The other problems are a few unused variables and the declaration of
main().

Bug#272057: ITP: ClientForm -- ClientForm is a Python module for handling HTML forms on the client side

2004-09-17 Thread Pawel
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ClientForm
  Version : 0.1.16
  Upstream Author : John J. Lee [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://wwwsearch.sourceforge.net/ClientForm/
* License : BSD
  Description : ClientForm is a Python module for handling HTML forms on
the client side

ClientForm is a Python module for handling HTML forms on the client
side, useful for parsing HTML forms, filling them in and returning the
completed forms to the server. It developed from a port of Gisle Aas'
Perl module HTML::Form, from the libwww-perl library, but the interface
is not the same.

Bug#272058: python-clientcookie

2004-09-17 Thread Seo Sanghyeon
python-clientcookie is already in the archive. 0.4.x series
is stable branch, where 1.x series is currently development
branch.

Wishlist bug for packaging 0.4.19 is filed as #262130.

I don't think 0.4.x and 1.x is entirely compatible. Moreover,
ClientCookie is to be included in Python 2.4 standard library:
so something will change.

How about waiting a little?
