The main reason for this package is so that desktop users with usb cameras don't need to manually set up hotplug and manually start their preferred application each time they hook up the camera. The example hotplug script in the libgphoto2 doc directory isn't so useful for debian users because it relies on pam_console/console permissions. There is also a hacky little zenity script that users can run to see which appropriate programs are installed, and they can choose their preferred app. I'm not a debian developer and I'm not that familiar with policy etc but I've attempted to create a deb. Source is online at http://www.wlug.org.nz/~jrm/usbcam/ If this gets debianized, it would be nice if the front-end apps (gtkam, gthumb, digikam etc) recommended this package... Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: pvoc Version : 0.1.10 Upstream Author : Tim Goetze [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://quitte.de/dsp/pvoc.html * License : (GPL) Description : pvoc is a collection of LADSPA units and a command line tool for time compression/expansion of sound data making use of the phase-vocoding technique (Include the long description here.) The phase vocoder that is the core of this package is an adaptation of Mark Dolson's implementation which is part of the CARL suite, skillfully adapted to C++ and streaming operation by Richard Dobson. The three LADSPA units in this package have been conceived and written by Trevor Wishart and Richard Dobson, and were originally released here as 'pvplugs'. My (Tim's) own contribution is the stretch command line utility, FFTW3 adaptation of Richard's work and the packaging of pvplugs in LADSPA flavour. Many thanks to Shahrokh Yadegari without whose intervention this package would not have been possible. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (901, 'testing'), (100, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.25-1-multimedia-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C

Bug#261410: RFP: fakenes -- An opensource nes emulator with a nice gui frontend
Hi there Randy, FakeNES does not compile on Debian testing out of the box. The maintainer tar'ed the package on a windows box, so the privileges and the DOS line delimiters complicate the situation a bit. I need to pipe ``config.h.in'' through sed to get ``configure'' running properly. I can't test if it runs really because I've got only some SNES roms, but no NES ones. The application starts up and I get the graphical environment. For the docs: The package depends on liballegro-dev and nasm; config.h.in needs to get rid of its DOS line endings, otherwise configure would not replace the items; you probably want ``./configure --without-hawknl'' because this lib is not yet in Debian. Bug#282688: RFP: autoconf-doc -- Documentation for autoconf, automatic configure script builder
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Since 2.59a-1 of autoconf, it does not have documentation anymore. Due to the complexity of the packages, it would be really nice to have documentation for autoconf in sarge. I'm therefore requesting for this documentation to be packaged separately. Note that since GFDL documents in main are acceptable for the Sarge release, you may upload to main now. After sarge is released, however, this package would probably need to be moved to non-free. Please do consult the autoconf maintainer (cc'ed) first whether he wants to package and maintain it himself, as it's preferable that autoconf and autoconf-doc be maintained by the same person for obvious reasons.
