Thanks for moving this upwards on my TODO list. Of course things turned

I don't think you need to do anything for libpng just yet FWIW. But
thanks for the update.

I prepared an upload that only deals with the via-transition for now.
However, it doesn't build in unstable due to:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libvtk5.8: Depends: libnetcdf6 which is a virtual package.

libnetcdf6 is a transitional package and VTK could use a rebuild. VTK
Git shows a new package upload is coming, but it hasn't arrived yet.
Changelog:

vtk (5.8.0-7) unstable; urgency=low

  * Prepare vtk for move to multi-arch (png, tiff,z,jpeg). Closes: #661676
  * Bump to Std-Vers: 3.9.3, no changes needed.

I guess this will resolve itself in a few days -- which I'll use to look
into the png-transition for ODIN.

Bug#662637: RFA: php-suhosin -- advanced protection module for php5

Hash: SHA1

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org
X-Debbugs-CC: pkg-php-ma...@lists.alioth.debian.org

We (Alexander and me) are requesting an adopter for the php-suhosin
package.

The long description is:

This package provides a module for suhosin functions.

Suhosin is an advanced protection system for PHP installations. It was
designed to protect servers and users from known and unknown flaws in
PHP applications and the PHP core. Suhosin comes in two independent
parts, that can be used separately or in combination. The first part
is a small patch against the PHP core, that implements a few low-level
protections against bufferoverflows or format string vulnerabilities
and the second part is a powerful PHP extension that implements all
the other protections.

We both haven't enought time, taking the care the package deserves.

The upstream scm can be found at: https://github.com/stefanesser

Latest packaging can be found at:
https://scm.uncompleted.org/svn/debian/php-suhosin/trunk/

Thanks and with kind regards, Jan.

In the case the package is/will be not maintained anymore.

Why do you think that is needed?

Because php-suhosin currently FTBFS with PHP 5.4, and php5-suhosin in
testing now depends on old phpapi-2009..., effectively blocking the
transition.

Bug#662657: ITP: node-marked -- Full-featured markdown parser and compiler for NodeJS

2012-03-05 Thread Jérémy Lal
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jérémy Lal kapo...@melix.org

* Package name: node-marked
  Version : 0.2.1
Upstream Author : Christopher Jeffrey (https://github.com/chjj/)
* URL : https://github.com/chjj/marked
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Javascript
Description : Full-featured markdown parser and compiler for NodeJS

Built for speed.
Marked is very concise and still implements all markdown features.
It is also now fully compatible with client-side javascript.

Marked more or less passes the official markdown test suite in its
entirety. This is important because a surprising number of markdown compilers
cannot pass more than a few tests. It was very difficult to get marked as
compliant as it is. It could have cut corners in several areas for the sake
of performance, but did not in order to be exactly what you expect in terms
of a markdown rendering.

Along with implementing every markdown feature, marked also implements
[GFM features](http://github.github.com/github-flavored-markdown/).

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the gnucash package in Debian.

The package description is:
Gnucash can track finances in multiple accounts, keeping running
and reconciled balances. It has an X based graphical user interface,
double entry, a hierarchy of accounts, expense accounts (categories),
and can import Quicken QIF files and OFX files.

Reason:
Due to some real life changes I don't need to do any financial
accounting anymore at a level that is offered by Gnucash. This means
that I am no longer an active user of Gnucash, which made me feel
more and more annoyed to maintain Gnucash, which is a pity.

State of the package:
Since I took over responsibility for Gnucash back in 2009, I worked
hard to get the packaging in a maintainable state by leveraging the
power of Debhelper using 'dh' style debian/rules file. Next I started
to get the number of bugs down. A lot of old bugs are still hanging
around in the BTS, some of them without being triaged yet. At least
I managed to stop the rising trend of the bug count, but with yet
73 open bugs there is still some work ahead...

Upstream state:
In the recent years the upstream developers released several new
versions, all with substantial bug fixes and other improvements that
prove that the project healthy and alive. It has always been a
pleasure to communicate with them. Bugfixes have always been welcome.

If you are interested in adopting maintenance for the gnucash package,
please drop me a line. I will then happily help you to get familiar with
the package and to get in touch with the friendly upstream developers. I
will stay around for a while and will help where needed, but I
definitely intend to hand the maintenance of the gnucash package over to
someone else.

Best Regards,
Micha

I don't think i have the time to maintain another package (which is ruby

interesting to introduce it to Debian; please find attached the work
i've started a few months ago, if it could be maybe reusable by the

Bug#662731: O: hwinfo - Hardware identification system

2012-03-05 Thread William Vera
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I orphan this package now.

This package requires more attention than I can give, in addition to
no longer use and would rather focus on my other packages.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you are *sure* you will have enough time and attention to
work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.
