Bug#543880: Performed QA upload
I did a QA upload of pyneighborhood to fix most of the outstanding packaging issues. Since the package was otherwise bug-free I think keeping it is better than removing it. I don't use it myself so didn't upload a new upstream release. If anyone wants to pick this up, the packaging is in the Python Applications Packaging Team repository. -- -- arthur - adej...@debian.org - http://people.debian.org/~adejong -- signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

On Tue, Mar 13, 2012 at 12:43:51PM +0900, Arnaud Fontaine wrote: Well, the kernel must be patched anyhow. By reading the README though, I cannot see anything preventing fbsplash being included as even if tools are not available for creating your own theme, you can still use the ones from http://wiki.tuxonice.net/UserUI/Themes (later on, perhaps themes could be added to the package itself or to a separate package if you feel it could be useful). Right, it seems to work without additional changes. I'll resolve some build issues then and make an updated package. -- WBR, wRAR signature.asc Description: Digital signature

This package brings that module to older Python releases, 2.3.5 and up (it may also work on older versions of 2.3, but it is untested). This Python module can be found on http://pypi.python.org/pypi/ssl/ It's quite similar to the 2.6 ssl module, which is documented on http://docs.python.org/dev/library/ssl.html Adding it to Debian would : - make pre-2.6 Python installations compatible with programs that make use of the new ssl module ; - bring new SSL-related features into the current Python packages, such as certificate validation against trusted authorities. I plan to use it to add SSL certificate validation support to OfflineIMAP, in a way that is backward-compatible with older Python versions. Thanks, bye, -- intrigeri intrig...@boum.org ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Closing, because this RFP was obsoleted by Python 2.6 entering the archive 2 years ago, as mentioned by the original submitter. ---End Message---

Bug#624806: Reasoning and RFP content
The reasons for removing insight were not mysterious, see #566579. (embedded copies of other libraries is a substantial problem). Integrating gdb into the insight source is a *bad* thing, not a good one, it duplicates an existing package and would result in multiple copies in the archive as well as on systems. See also #546825 An RFP bug also needs to document things like the URL of the package, the licence(s) applicable and the programming language used. (Some of those are obvious for insight, some are not) along with a likely description of the package. (See any of the other RFP bugs filed against WNPP). Do you still want insight in Debian? Bug#654527: Consider gpdftext
Hi, After a quick testing of gpdftext, it seems that it only extracts the text from pdf files. However, I tend to use my reader to read papers with mathematical formulas and figures, which papercrop handles quite well, and are lost by gpdftext. So, gpdftext is far from being an equivalent of papercrop and I think that both programs deserve a package in Debian! Cheers, Samuel.
