Bug#849050: ITP: python-graphviz -- Simple Python 3 interface for Graphviz

The upstream source package name is graphviz and is hosted on pypi at
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/graphviz

Obviously that conflicts with the original C language package grapvhiz,
so I thought python-graphviz was the best alternative. I'm open to
other suggestions. pypi-graphviz?

The binary package name would be python3-graphviz.

And yes there is a pygraphviz, but that's a different package with a
different API.

But yes it is a bit silly there's so many different python graphviz
apis.

I'm guessing the reason the dask developers used the pypi graphviz is
its pure python, unlike pygraphviz which is a C extension. But I'm not
sure, I just tried to use the task visulaization and got an import
error.

dask uses the python graphviz library to generate plots like in this
notebook.

This naming would be unacceptable. Python 3 package should be named as
"python3-foobar", not "python-foobar".

There are already packages called "python{,3}-pygraphviz" and you may want to
take a look.

Bug#849050: ITP: python-graphviz -- Simple Python 3 interface for Graphviz

2016-12-21 Thread Diane Trout
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Diane Trout

* Package name: python-graphviz
  Version : 0.5.2
  Upstream Author : Sebastian Bank
* URL : https://github.com/xflr6/graphviz
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Simple Python 3 interface for Graphviz

This package facilitates the creation and rendering of graph descriptions in
the DOT language of the Graphviz graph drawing software from Python.
 .
Create a graph object, assemble the graph by adding nodes and edges, and
retrieve its DOT source code string. Save the source code to a file and render
it with the Graphviz installation of your system.
 .
Use the ``view`` option/method to directly inspect the resulting (PDF, PNG,
SVG, etc.) file with its default application. Graphs can also be rendered
 and displayed within Jupyter notebooks.

This package is an optional dependency of dask.

Bug#849042: RFP: fonts-noto-emoji -- "No Tofu" emoji font

2016-12-21 Thread Taylor Kline
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: fonts-noto-emoji
  Upstream Author : googlei18n
* URL : https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji
* License : SIL Open Font License v1.1 (fonts) and Apache v2.0 (tools
and image resources).
  Programming Lang: Python, C
Description : "No Tofu" emoji font

Emoji are an extremely common form of expression in modern
communication, yet the present options for displaying them in Debian are
hacky at best. For example, this effort
https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji will display emoji correctly in
Firefox but will only be black-and-white system-wide (so not in Chrome).
Similarly,
ttf-ancient-fonts can be installed for very ugly, B emoji.

The best solution I've currently found is based on this post:
http://stdio.tumblr.com/post/114082931782
and involves: downloading NotoColorEmoji.ttf from the noto-fonts Android
git repository, copying it to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/, and creating a
/etc/fonts/conf.d/01-notoemoji.conf with the contents:

  Noto Color Emoji

  true

However, NotoColorEmoji can be built from its source at
https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji and it has a very friendly
license. It would be great to have the NotoColorEmoji font as a Debian
package to be easily installed and automatically configured.

ck was briefly used as a dependency for Ganglia (Debian package: gmetad)
and so I made a package of it.

It is not being used by Ganglia any more so I am not maintaining the ck

revision

A fairly fast way to create a map from all the filenames to
info objects for a given revision of a Git repo.
.
This library uses os/exec to talk to Git in order to
avoid dependencies.

This package is needed for the new release of hugo, the static website
generator.

Tobias

Description : cream/brown/orange color theme for Emacs

Clues was initially based on a Visual Studio theme called 'Blues 'n
Roots' however it's a long way from looking much like it, aside from
the occasional color accent, Blues (despite it's name) has a more
toasted caramel flavor. Clues on the other hand is made up of cooling
colors with a couple of flecks of light cream/brown/orange to break
up any monotony, with yellow/gold rainbow-delimiters.

I plan to maintain this package as part of Emacsen team

This Node.js module breaks up a stream and reassembles it so that

It accepts the same arguments as String.split: a string or a
regular expression - the optional limit parameter being ignored.
 .

This package is usefull for latest node-postgres packaging.
It also has a lot of dependents modules, and is very stable.

not yet, since there still is a recommendation of confluence from
the package science-electronics. I have removed this recommendation

Hi!

Well, the FRP was not done by a team member nor, as far as I know, anyone one
the team is thinking in packaging it.

I'm CCing the RFP bug to see if he's still interested in packaging it. El se I
would suggest you to consider packaging it yourself.

Bug#848990: O: tuxpaint-stamps -- Stamp files for Tux Paint, a paint program for children

2016-12-21 Thread Christoph Biedl
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Ben Armstrong, maintainer of the tuxpaint-stamps package, has retired
from the Debian project. Therefore I orphan this package.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
https://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Some information about this package:

Popcon rank (as of today): 1686

Source: tuxpaint-stamps
Section: graphics
Priority: optional
Build-Depends: debhelper (>> 5)
Maintainer: Ben Armstrong
Standards-Version: 3.9.6

Package: tuxpaint-stamps-default
Architecture: all
Provides: tuxpaint-stamps
Depends: ${misc:Depends}
Recommends: tuxpaint
Description: Stamp files for Tux Paint, a paint program for children
Tux Paint is meant to be a simple drawing program for young
children. It is not meant as a general-purpose drawing tool.
It IS meant to be fun and easy to use. Sound effects and a
cartoon character help let the user know what's going on, and
 keeps them entertained.
 .
Tux Paint is extensible. Brushes and "rubber stamp" shapes can be
dropped in and pulled out. For example, a teacher can drop in a
collection of animal shapes and ask their students to draw an
ecosystem. Each shape can have a sound which is played, and
textual facts which are displayed, when the child selects the shape.
 .
There is no direct access to the computer's underlying intricacies.
The current image is kept when the program quits, and reappears when
it is restarted. Saving images requires no need to create filenames
or use the keyboard. Opening an image is done by selecting it from
 a collection of thumbnails.
 .
This package contains sounds, images and other data for Tux Paint.

* Package name: asterisk-opus

Description : opus module for Asterisk

Module for the Asterisk open source PBX which allows you to use the
 Opus audio codec.
 .
Opus is the default audio codec in WebRTC. WebRTC is available in
Asterisk via SIP over WebSockets (WSS). Nevertheless, Opus can be used
for other transports (UDP, TCP, TLS) as well. Opus supersedes previous
codecs like CELT and SiLK. Furthermore in favor of Opus, other
open-source audio codecs are no longer developed, like Speex, iSAC,
iLBC, and Siren. If you use your Asterisk as a back-to-back user agent
(B2BUA) and you transcode between various audio codecs, one should
 enable Opus for future compatibility.
 .
Opus is not only supported for pass-through but can be transcoded as
well. This allows you to translate to/from other audio codecs like
those for landline telephones (ISDN: G.711; DECT: G.726-32; and HD:
G.722) or mobile phones (GSM, AMR, AMR-WB, 3GPP EVS).

Opus module is currently included as a patch to Asterisk itself, but
that complicates security tracking (see bug#847666), and same codebase
has recently grown support for building out-of-tree as well.

This package will be maintained in the VoIP team.

Description : Run some code when the process exits

Node-js module to run one or more hooks when the process exits,
either because the event loop dried up, or because it received
 a signal (SIGINT or SIGTERM).
 .
 Useful for cleaning up.
 .
 Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

It is required for:
- restore-cursor
- which is required for cli-cursor
- which is required for node-inquirer (ITP: https://bugs.debian.org/848364)
- which in turn is required by node-yarnpkg 0.18 (ITP:
https://bugs.debian.org/843021).

My intention is to package it within the javascript maintainers team.

The repo will be on alioth:
https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-javascript/node-exit-hook.git

Description : scalable persistent object containers for Python

This package contains a set of persistent object containers built around a
modified BTree data structure. The trees are optimized for use inside ZODB's
“optimistic concurrency” paradigm, and include explicit resolution of
 conflicts detected by that mechanism.

This is a required dependency for the new version of ZODB, and I plan to
maintain it as part of the Debian Python Modules Team. See also

Description : The next generation Nagios Remote Plugin Executor

This is a rewrite from the ground up of NRPE. This set of programs
allows you to run Nagios check scripts on a remote host.

Its main selling points are:
- nearly drop-in NRPE replacement
- real, proper TLS/SSL with keys/certificates
- safer command-line argument passing
- support for named command-line arguments

I plain to maintain both the Debian package and continue upstream
development with a colleague for my employer, Tiger Computing, on
company time.

  Version : 2.1.0
  Upstream Author : ForbesLindesay
* URL : https://github.com/then/is-promise
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: JavaScript
Description : Test whether an object looks like a promises-a+ promise

Node.js module to test whether an object looks like a promises-a+
promise (a javascript object representing the eventual result of an
asynchronous operation) compliant with the Promises/A+ specification.
 .
 Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

I's a one-liner ... but it is required for:
- run-async
- which is required by node-inquirer (ITP: https://bugs.debian.org/848364)
- which in turn is required by node-yarnpkg 0.18 (ITP:
https://bugs.debian.org/843021).

My intention is to package it within the javascript maintainers team.

The repo will be on alioth:
https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-javascript/node-is-promise.git

I've now updated against the upstream 1.1.2, plus some packaging
cleanups and fixes. Filed additional RFPs needed (marked also as
blocking) or got required dependencies in Debian updated.

Same situation but against 1.1.2.

Bug#848971: ITP: rdma-core -- RDMA Core Userspace Libraries and Daemons

2016-12-21 Thread Talat Batheesh
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Talat Batheesh

* Package name: rdma-core
  Version : v12
Upstream Author : Doug Ledford , Leon Romanovsky

* URL : https://github.com/linux-rdma/rdma-core
* License : GPLv2+ and BSD
Programming Lang: Bourne Shell, Bash, C, python, perl
Description : RDMA Core Userspace Libraries and Daemons

Overview

rdma-core handles userspace components for the Linux Kernel's
drivers/infiniband subsystem.

This package re-organizing how to deliver the source code, Instead of > 20
small repositories of packages that are already included in debian [1] we
are combining them into a single source tree.

The main changes are that the providers are combined into a single package
called 'ibverbs-providers', and upstream content that has never been packaged
for Debian is included.

The main advantages of maintaining a single package are
* Eliminate code duplications
* Scalable solution - new provider can easily be added (no need for new
packaging process)
* Common RDMA support across different distros.
* Reduce complexity of the package dependency chain.

The userspace component of the libibverbs RDMA kernel drivers are included
under the providers/ directory. Support for the following Kernel RDMA drivers
is included:

 - iw_cxgb3.ko
 - iw_cxgb4.ko
 - hfi1.ko
 - hns-roce.ko
 - i40iw.ko
 - ib_qib.ko
 - mlx4_ib.ko
 - mlx5_ib.ko
 - ib_mthca.ko
 - iw_nes.ko
 - ocrdma.ko
 - qedr.ko
 - rdma_rxe.ko

Additional service daemons are provided for:
- srp_daemon (ib_srp.ko)
- iwpmd (for iwarp kernel providers)

You can read more on the subject in the discussion on the linux-rdma mailing
list [2].

Bug#843207: ITP: man2texi -- man page to texinfo file converter

2016-12-21 Thread Paul Hardy
The plan to release a version 0.02 of man2texi has been cancelled.
There will be an even newer version of man2texi, which I will package
for Debian when it is done. There are problems with man2texi and the
latest versions of texinfo producing consistent output across all
operating environments that Nelson Beebe is testing. He is working
with the GNU texinfo maintainer to resolve these issues.

Unfortunately, this means that there will be no man2texi release in
time for the Debian stretch freeze. I will post updates to this ITP
bug report when the situation changes.

Thanks,

Paul Hardy
