If that's working well for you, I'd say yes; having team-maintained packages
in a common location makes most things easier; including common CI test
scripts, team-at-large changes, etc.

Hello there Blake,

I have heard about Bismuth and would like to see it in Debian.

I see that John (cc'ed) has already started a Debian package on Salsa
(Debian's Gitlab instance): https://salsa.debian.org/jgoerzen/bismuth

Would it make sense for you two to collaborate on this?

I agree it would make sense in KDE Extras, so (as I had the rights), just went
away and created a repo there:

  https://salsa.debian.org/qt-kde-team/extras/kwin-bismuth

I've invited John and you to it; don't hesitate to ask if you have questions!

Happy to review and upload when that's Debian-ready!

Bug#746381: O: foomatic-filters -- OpenPrinting printer support - filters

2014-04-29 Thread Didier Raboud
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I have now orphaned the foomatic-filters package. For all contemporary
Printing concerns, it's been replaced with cups-filters.

Given that I don't know if non-CUPS users need it, I've opted for an
orphaning rather than a straight removal. If you are using it [0],
please consider adopting it; it only has a twentieth of bugs and should
be mostly working. :-)

The package description is:
Foomatic is a printer database designed to make it easier to set up
common printers for use with UNIX-like operating systems.
It provides the glue between a print spooler (like CUPS or lpr) and
the printer, by processing files sent to the printer.
 .
This package consists of filters used by the printer spoolers
to convert the incoming PostScript data into the printer's native
format using a printer-specific, but spooler-independent PPD file.
 .
For use with CUPS, you will need both the cups and cups-client
 packages installed on your system.

Cheers, OdyX

Hi people,

Comments welcome. That said, I plan to have lsb 4.1+Debian5 out with some

Bug#616131: ITA: LSB package maintenance in Debian

2012-02-22 Thread Didier Raboud
Hi all again,

first, thanks to Steve and Jeff for the straight answers!

I have now pushed my git repository to collab-maint/lsb.git [0],
including the following branches:

 - master with all past Debian releases
 - master-ubuntu with all past Ubuntu releases (that I could find)
 - pristine-tar with all past Debian and Ubuntu tarball footprints

All past releases are properly tagged using either debian/${version} or
ubuntu/${version}.

I have also done some work on the package on a separate branch (which
includes tiny-dh, dh_python2, LSB4.1, some bug patches, dropping
Qt3, etc):

 - master-experimental-odyx

For now, I tested this package by creating a changelog with `git-dch
--multimaintmerge --ignore-branch --meta`and defining the version as
`4.1~Debian0` (which is a properly native version).

I would appreciate a review of my `master-experimental-odyx` branch,
including Acked-by/Signed-off-by additions and cherry-picking on another
branch (or master). As far as I can tell, most of the Ubuntu diff
(besides Multi-Arch as of now) are merged to my branch.

[0] http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/lsb.git

Le 16.02.2012 19:02, Jeff Licquia a écrit :
FWIW, this has been something the LSB has been discussing upstream,
and we're willing to help with the work.

If the project is willing, I'd appreciate having commit access and
 being an uploader.

Jeff: while I have no call as project (as I just RFA'd lsb), I would
certainly welcome any help. As the git repository is on alioth's
collab-maint, as DD you already have commit access. Feel free to add
yourself as uploader during your review of my code changes. :-

I would like to upload lsb to experimental before the end of February,
eventually postponing bug resolutions. Uploading a good-working LSB 4.1
package before the end of March to unstable sounds realistic to me.

Cheers,

OdyX

Hi dear Nexuiz maintainers,

Devid filed this ITP ~2 weeks ago, and closed it some hours later. Now,
looking around for 3D FPS available for Debian, I fell on the Xonotic project,

Description : configuration module for GTK+ appearance in KDE

This is a configuration module for System Settings for configuring the
widget style and fonts of GTK+ applications in KDE. It is derived from
gtk-qt-engine's configuration module.

happens in http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-kde/kde-extras/kcm-gtk.git

This is nice. I put Didier in Cc, as he can perhaps make use of them
for usb-modeswitch. Feel free to ask me if you need sponsoring for
  ozerocdoff.

I have checked in the mean time and noticed there are some udev rules as
 well on the usb-modeswitch homepage.

One drawback of ozerocdoff is that it might only be used with Option
devices (this is a guess only as developed by Option) whereas
usb-modeswitch has a more general approach which seems better)

 Cheers,
 Julien

Hi all,

about usb-modeswitch:
* The -1 version actually in NEW does effectively not contain any udev
rules.
* I prepared a -2 version [0] which builds a udev rules file from the
  configuration file at build time.
* This .rules files is really a simple linear file, which lists all the
  possibilities.
* From what I have tested with my device, it works. :)

about ozerocdoff:
* From what I have seen, it is particular to the Option devices, where
usb_modeswitch is more generic (this is not a comment on the
intrinsinc
  quality).
* The provided .rules is much smarter.

I think that both projects should coexist if they have non-overlapping uses.

Best regards,

OdyX

Hi, I would suggest you to take a look on this more recent project :

https://launchpad.net/truecrypt-installer

I have no idea about its cross-plateform'ability (I would take it for
amd64...) but it is certainly worth a try !

Bug#451956: RFP: jbossseam -- JBoss Seam is a powerful new application framework for building next generation Web 2.0 applications

2007-11-19 Thread Didier Raboud
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***

  Package name: jboss-seam
  Version : 2.0.0.GA
  Upstream Author : jboss.org
  URL : http://labs.jboss.com/jbossseam/
  License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: Java
Description : JBoss Seam is a powerful new application framework for
building next generation Web 2.0 applications by unifying and integrating
technologies such as Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX), Java Server
Faces (JSF), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB3), Java Portlets and Business Process
Management (BPM).

Seam has been designed from the ground up to eliminate complexity at the
architecture and the API level. It enables developers to assemble complex web
applications with simple annotated Plain Old Java Objects (POJOs),
componentized UI widgets and very little XML. The simplicity of Seam will
enable easy integration with the JBoss Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Java
Business Integration (JBI) in the future.
