Bug#1008816: ITP: kwin-bismuth -- KDE Plasma extension for tiling windows
Hello there Blake, I have heard about Bismuth and would like to see it in Debian. I believe this is probably > an area for the KDE Extras Team. I see that John (cc'ed) has already started a Debian package on Salsa (Debian's Gitlab instance): https://salsa.debian.org/jgoerzen/bismuth Would it make sense for you two to collaborate on this? I agree it would make sense in KDE Extras, so (as I had the rights), just went away and created a repo there: https://salsa.debian.org/qt-kde-team/extras/kwin-bismuth I've invited John and you to it; don't hesitate to ask if you have questions! > I will need a sponsor to upload this package. Bug#746381: O: foomatic-filters -- OpenPrinting printer support - filters
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I have now orphaned the foomatic-filters package. For all contemporary Printing concerns, it's been replaced with cups-filters. Given that I don't know if non-CUPS users need it, I've opted for an orphaning rather than a straight removal. If you are using it [0], please consider adopting it; it only has a twentieth of bugs and should be mostly working. :-) The package description is: Foomatic is a printer database designed to make it easier to set up common printers for use with UNIX-like operating systems. It provides the glue between a print spooler (like CUPS or lpr) and the printer, by processing files sent to the printer. . This package consists of filters used by the printer spoolers to convert the incoming PostScript data into the printer's native format using a printer-specific, but spooler-independent PPD file. . Bug#616131: ITA: LSB package maintenance in Debian
Hi all again, first, thanks to Steve and Jeff for the straight answers! I have now pushed my git repository to collab-maint/lsb.git [0], including the following branches: - master with all past Debian releases - master-ubuntu with all past Ubuntu releases (that I could find) - pristine-tar with all past Debian and Ubuntu tarball footprints All past releases are properly tagged using either debian/${version} or ubuntu/${version}. I have also done some work on the package on a separate branch (which includes tiny-dh, dh_python2, LSB4.1, some bug patches, dropping Qt3, etc): - master-experimental-odyx For now, I tested this package by creating a changelog with `git-dch --multimaintmerge --ignore-branch --meta`and defining the version as `4.1~Debian0` (which is a properly native version). I would appreciate a review of my `master-experimental-odyx` branch, including Acked-by/Signed-off-by additions and cherry-picking on another branch (or master). As far as I can tell, most of the Ubuntu diff (besides Multi-Arch as of now) are merged to my branch. As the git repository is on alioth's collab-maint, as DD you already have commit access. Feel free to add yourself as uploader during your review of my code changes. :- I would like to upload lsb to experimental before the end of February, eventually postponing bug resolutions. Bug#501760: New upstream release 1.9 is out

This is nice. I put Didier in Cc, as he can perhaps make use of them for usb-modeswitch. Feel free to ask me if you need sponsoring for ozerocdoff. I have checked in the mean time and noticed there are some udev rules as well on the usb-modeswitch homepage. One drawback of ozerocdoff is that it might only be used with Option devices (this is a guess only as developed by Option) whereas usb-modeswitch has a more general approach which seems better) Cheers, Julien Hi all, about usb-modeswitch: * The -1 version actually in NEW does effectively not contain any udev rules. * I prepared a -2 version [0] which builds a udev rules file from the configuration file at build time. * This .rules files is really a simple linear file, which lists all the possibilities. * From what I have tested with my device, it works. :) about ozerocdoff: * From what I have seen, it is particular to the Option devices, where usb_modeswitch is more generic (this is not a comment on the intrinsinc quality). * The provided .rules is much smarter. I think that both projects should coexist if they have non-overlapping uses.
