very vurious about the reasons for that change..
I couldn't find anything unusual beside 2 or 3 security updates. I
copied the dpkg.log into your homedir to double check.

that was supposed to be my Login Password. That Login Password begins
with {sha} and what looks like random characters... Trying to log in
with those Name and Password does not work.
append a = to the passwd send to you. That works. See also archive of
this list.
