Which link are you referring to and which web page did you see the link on?

Debian 7 is obsoleted by Debian 8, we strongly suggest you upgrade.

The latest version of Debian 7 is Debian 7.11, if you can't upgrade to
Debian 8, please at least upgrade to Debian 7.11.

The latest version of Debian 8 is available here:

aide is still in Debian, just not in testing. Once the maintainer
uploads the fixed version to unstable, the package will be back in
testing after 5 days. If you need aide before then, please install the
version from unstable or experimental.

This is IMHO not: SPI accepts donations not only for Debian ;-)

This is questionable, given that some Trusted Organizations provide
merchandise. However, this is still an open question:

This is not true, since any Trusted Organization holds Debian money:

In the case of the original sender, ffis seems a better alternative

IIRC at the DebConf10 Merchandise BoF there was a discussion about such

Debian itself doesn't sell merchandise but there are several external
organisations who do. Some of them also support Debian using the
proceeds of their sales, please take a look at the links on these
pages:

Hi Prabat,

Debian allow you to install minimum image , as well as full .
as you know that Debian comes with more then 17000 packages , its really
upto installer what packages he/she want to install

fedora will not give you facility for minimal install that's why stopping
and starting service are available.
Debian is very secure until unless you are installing unstable/experimental
packages. I would suggest that you can always go with Debian stable.
Are you volunteering for any project ? if not then you can go ahead and
suggest what are the things are missing .

The link you require is
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/devel/perl-byacc

Alternatively, http://packages.debian.org/perl-byacc shows all

Also be careful not to download to a FAT32 partition as its filesize is

I've just tried, and no problem happens.

Make sure you have the capacity on your disk for the whole ISO, and
check our FAQ :

Hello dear Debian staff,

web site www.Debian.org (
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0_r4/i386/iso-dvd/debian-40r4-i386-DVD-1.iso),

but it gets stuck and downloading stops at 12%, I am using Orbit Downloader,
I don't know if something is wrong in my PC or the file, could you please

See our commitment to free software : http://www.debian.org/intro/free

* Everyone is authorized to distribute Debian CD/DVD, the list of
vendors is to reference place where users can purchase CD/DVD.

* There are no 'second class' ISOs, the images distributed on mirrors
  are the reference ISOs.

This includes some networking code including Winsock and inet; as well

Some others include the event log and the default screensavers.

Hello, Justin. You will find lots of CD/DVD vendors ordered by

will ship your favourite Debian to your home, in the Debian CD vendors page:

Please start by reading our pages about the website:
http://www.debian.org/devel/website/

Notice that the site is updated by many people and some automatic
scripts, is translated into a number of languages, and is mirrored on
servers around the world. Hence, a total rewrite would probably not
gain a lot of support amongst the readers of this mailing list, while
suggesting changes that can be made using our current system are much
more likely to be accepted.

Also see this list's archive for past discussions about changes to the
site:

hello!!

2005-04-25 Thread xrmb2
hi guys,

ich hope the right language here is english, i might have problems with it,
i'm living in austria...
well, i am a professional webdesigner & scripter for every declaration w3c
published yet and i'm writing my sites in xHTML 1.1 only (the 'highest'
declaration).
so i thought that the debian-homepage might need to be rewritten. i mean,
the sourcecode is good, but it can be much better.

for first i'd like to offer you a new design, i'll create it later.
the code will be written in xHTML 1.1 & CSS 2 or 3 (maybe also some
optmizations in the PHP-part), it will be compatible to every random browser
in most versions.
and I also created a own, special script for email-adresses, so that
spam-robots can't read it from the homepage. It's based on javascript, but
for those users who have disabled javascript, i'll create an alternate too.

don't panic, i will do it for free, as like the debian-project it is for me.
and what could be a better reference for me, than the official homepage of
debian?! - but this is really not the most important reason, why i'd like
to do it.
primary it's really dedicated to the debian-project.

so how about it?

regards,
Miroslav Bozic,

2004-12-18 Thread SUHARAF
Dear Friend,
This mail may not be surprising to you if you have
been
following current events in the international media
with
reference to the Middle East and Palestine in
particular.
I am Mrs. SUHA ARAFAT, the wife of YASSER ARAFAT, the
Palestinian leader who died recently in Paris. Since
his
death and even prior to the announcement, I have been
thrown
into a state of antagonism, confusion, humiliation,
frustration and hopelessness by the present leadership
of
the Palestinian Liberation Organization and
the new Prime Minister. I have even been subjected to
physical and psychological torture. As a widow that is
so
traumatized, I have lost confidence with everybody in
the
country at the moment.
You must have heard over the media reports and the
Internet
on the discovery of some fund in my husband secret
bank
account and companies and the allegations of some huge
sums
of money deposited by my husband in my name of which I
have
refuses to disclose or give up to the corrupt
Palestine
Government. In fact the total sum allegedly discovered
by
the Government so far is in the tune of about $6.5
Billion
Dollars. And they are not relenting on their effort to
make
me poor for life. As you know, the Muslim community
has no
regards for a woman, more importantly when the woman
is from a
christian background, hence my desire for a foreign
assistance.
I have deposited the sum of 21 million dollars with a
Financial firm in Europe whose name is withheld for
now
until we open communication. I shall be grateful if
you could
receive this fund into your bank account for safe
keeping
and any Investment opportunity. This arrangement will
be
known to you and I alone and all our correspondence
should
be strictly on email alone because I suspect that our
government has tapped my lines and are monitoring all
my moves.
In view of the above, if you are willing to assist for
our
mutual benefits, we will have to negotiate on your
Percentage share of the $21,000,000 that will be kept
in
your position for a while and invested in your name
for my
trust pending when my Daughter, Zahwa, will come off
age and
take full responsibility of her Family
Estate/inheritance.
Please note that this is a golden opportunity that
comes
once in life time and more so, if you are honest, I am
going
to entrust more funds in your care as this is one of
the
legacy we keep for our children.
In case you don't accept please do not let me out to
the
security and international media as I am giving you
this
information in total trust and confidence I will
greatly
appreciate if you accept my proposal in good faith.
Please
expedite action.
Yours sincerely,

Hello!!!

2002-08-26 Thread George Mba
ENGR.GEORGE MBA.
DIRECTOR, MINERALS & NATURAL
RESOURCES, SOUTH AFRICAN MINISTRY OF
MINING & MINERAL RESOURCES, (SMMR)
PRETORIA, REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Sir,

It is my pleasure to write you this letter on behalf
of my colleagues. I have decided to seek a
confidential co-operation with you in executing of a
deal hereunder for the benefit of all parties, and
hope you will keep it confidential because of the
nature of this business.

I am the Director of Mineral and Natural Resources of
the South African Ministry of Mining and Mineral
Resources (SMMR) and I have the co-operation of two
other top officials, we have in our possession an
overdue payment in US funds.

The funds represent some percentage of the contract
executed on behalf of my ministry by a foreign firm,
which we over-invoiced to the amount of
US$15,500,000.00 (Fifteen Million Five Hundred
Thousand United States Dollars.) Though the actual
contract cost has been paid to the original
contractor, leaving the excess balance unclaimed.

Since the present Government is determined to pay
foreign contractors all debts owed, so as to maintain
good relationship with other governments. As a result
we include our bills for approvals with the
co-operation of some officials at the Federal Ministry
of Finance.

We are seeking your assistance as the Beneficiary of
the unclaimed funds, since we are not allowed to
operate a foreign account.

We hereby propose that, should you be willing to
assist us in this transaction your share as
compensation will be 30% while my colleagues and I
receive 60% and 10% for miscellaneous expenses.

This business itself is 100% safe, provided you treat
it with utmost confidentiality. I have reposed my
confidence in you and hope that you will not
disappoint us.

Kindly notify me by Email for
further details, upon your acceptance of this
proposal.

Best Regards,

Engr. George Mba

Hello

2001-09-08 Thread Brian Elias

Dear Neighbor:

I'm having a tax problem and I want you to be the beneficiary
instead of the IRS...

My business has had a phenomenal year so far in 2001. In fact,
we've done so well I'm probably going to pay 2½ times more corporate
taxes than I did last year. And if we make any more money this year,
the tax problem will only get worse... I'll have to pay even more
money to the IRS.

I have employees who I don't want to lay-off. So in order to keep
my employees busy and not give more money to the IRS, I've decided on
a strategy that's so bold – so daring – that I doubt anyone else
would even dare try it. I have decided to offer windows and siding
to you, at our basic cost. In other words, I'm going to offer you
windows and siding for no personal profit whatsoever! This will
increase our expenses thereby decrease our percent of profits. Just
click the link below to set up an appointment with one of my sales
representatives today!

Just point your browser at www.inetwindows2k.com

Brian Elias
President
Hansons Windows & Siding

P. S. This a one time email offer only good for the next 9 day
or until we decrease our tax problem.

 * Double check your gateway address, it sounds like it is wrong.
 * Check that this outside machine can ping other things inside your
   LAN.
 * If none of that works, subscribe to debian-user (see
http://lists.debian.org/ for information ), this email list is for
the webmaster who look after the Debian website.

Dear Sir:

Can you please answer me a question.
I just installed debian 2.2. The debian server is connected to the local
network. It is also con
figured to be webserver.
The IP address and Gateway addres is setup inside /etc/network

The problem is, I can not ping the server from outside the local LAN. Pinging
in the local LAN is fine.

Can you please tell me the reason ?

Thank you very much,
Lishan
