Hi Shlomi,

In this case, "tie your conversation" meant making sure folks in this email
thread were made aware of the website revamp already underway, and the
folks from debian-www were made aware of this conversation.

I hope that clarifies it. :)

wml is an SSG:

*
https://github.com/shlomif/shlomif-tech-diary/blob/master/static-site-generators--despair.md

I'd recommend switching from it to something faster and less quirky (despite
being a wml upstream maintainer):

https://lists.debian.org/debian-www/2019/09/msg00011.html

There is an undergoing hugo branch.

Regarding react.js: I'd prefer to avoid if it means https://www.debian.org/
will require whitelisting client-side scripting:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meltdown_(security_vulnerability) and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectre_(security_vulnerability) .

Re: Complete Website Revamp

2021-03-20 Thread Abraham Raji
Hey,

If I'm being honest though we could use a better looking website with easier
ways to do things, bringing in react or vue seems like an overkill. I don't
really see any merit in doing that especially since our use case is so simple.
Please explain your car further.

Sincerely,
Abraham Raji
