apparently the update of libcurl2 which has just been uploaded
(version 7.12.0.is.7.11.2-1 ) has fixed the problem for me.

I traced dpkg -i xserver-xfree86_4.3.0.dfsg.1-4_i386.deb and saw that it was
looking for libcurl.so.2. However, the library in the unstable version of
libcurl2 is now libcurl.so.3. The problem disappears

I am getting the same problem with 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 and there is no
helpful output as to what the root cause is. I followed instructions
for setting env vars but that does not produce any more output.
Is there any way to find the root cause?

I recently saw the same problem (packages scripts failing with exit
status 127) and found the following (inexplicable) workaround - use dash
for /bin/sh instead of bash... Don't know if that is a general solution
or I just got lucky, but I thought I'd pass it along.

I'm getting the same problem, kdm won't start on it's own, I get the
