A quick perusal of the debconf code for xserver-xorg suggests that the
problem with each upgrade prompting multiple times for certain
information happens when automatic detection fails. The config script
clears out old debconf data and tries to autodetect. If autodetection
failed, the values are
The problem I described has been resolved somehow, everything works smoothly.
