Regretfully I can no longer test this as I've changed laptop and have
migrated to Ubuntu.

FWIW I see the same thing and can confirm that on my Thinkpad X40 that
it doesn't happen everytime, maybe around 1/10 times?
The network however does appear to keep working and I can SSH in to
the box and/or press the physical power button for an ACPI shutdown.

This is a horrible bug that I see on my 855GM (Thinkpad X40), forcing
me to use 2.6.26 instead.
It might be a good idea for the kernel team to see this because they
might be able to cherry pick the patch?

figured this one out.
Looks like my poor little Thinkpad X40 only has so much chug :)
I guess we can close the bug report.

Package: compizconfig-settings-manager
Version: 0.7.6-3
Severity: normal
Hi,
The bicubic filter just seems completely stubborn about being set.
I made a video to put it into context:
http://shezza.sdf-eu.org/bug.ogv
You can see that I check it and then a few moments later it 'de-checks' itself.
Package: libcompizconfig0
Version: 0.7.4-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
I've had compiz working for several months in testing until a few
packages just filtered in to testing today (31/05/08).
After intense googling I think it's this library that is at fault.
I get th

export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0
In my /etc/environment was sufficient to work around this. I thought
this might be helpful for any other gamers led here. For me this fixes
Tremulous, Nexuiz, Alien Arena, and OpenArena, with no further
configuration required.

Hi,
I'm a KDE man with the minimum amount of GTK/GNOME stuff installed.
I decided to play with compiz today and noticed that the settings

;m happy to
wait for that driver to filter in to testing in the future and test it then.
I would suggest closing this bug (if you've not already done so) and
I'll file a new wish-list bug under the new driver if XvMC doesn't work.

Hi,
Given there probably aren't many compiz 0.2.2-1 users in lenny, I'd
thought I'd report this.
I'm using KDE 3.5.5 and compiz worked wonderfully before 02/05/07 where
the libc6 upgrade and a slew of other packages came through.

In the release notes for etch (section 2.3.3), it states that 'discover'

Maybe discover should be made a dependency for an xorg installation?

fulfils this bug, yet at the same time I can't help but feeling that
there should be a more straightforward approach to managing settings for

Compiz is working great, however I can find no way to configure the
finer settings that compiz has. I notice that other distributions have
the compiz-settings-manager (CSM) package.
Would it be possible to consider bringing this extra package
