Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.3.0-2
Severity: minor

Don't know if this bug should be filed against xserver-xfree86 or xlibs.

With xfree 4.2 and XkbModel=3Dpc104 the less and greater keys where
recognized correctly on my laptop's keyboard.

After the recent upgrade those keys were not available with
XkbModel=3Dpc104.

Setting XkbModel to "pc105" everything works correctly:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Keyboard0"
        Driver "keyboard"
        Option "CoreKeyboard"
        Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
        Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
        Option "XkbLayout" "it"

EndSection

Neither, actually. :)

They were recognized, but wrongly.

You have solved your own problem exactly correctly. Your laptop's
keyboard is compatible with 105-key European models, not 104-key U.S.
models, which have no "< >" key.

The frequency of this report tells me I need to add a debian/NEWS item
about this.

Closing this bug.
