Bug#499018: New upstream version.

2009-01-18 Thread François Wendling
Hi,

I checked this patch just today, and it seems that it doesn't work. I tried the
recent 1.7.0 version (used the tarball), some good job has been done as stated
in the changelog, i just need to specify the driver and to not use the bios,
then i get no more vt blanking or multiple mouse cursors.

I played a bit with the different options available, so i join the most minimal
xorg.conf changes you need from the one generated by xserver-xorg.

Despite that, it's still not usable with the default xorg.conf, i get a similar
log to the one i posted before.

Regards.

François.

After more investigation I found that this happens with _all_ 3d
programs, but only when a composite manager (either metacity or
xcompmhr) is enabled, so it's not celestia's fault. Sorry for the
 noise :)

Not only russian, but any layout without third level (e.g. us)
breaks these layouts too.
As a temporary workaround you could place russian layout to last
position de(neo),sk,de,ru.

In xf86-video-intel 2.6, dri2 requires using UXA as AccelMethod, which

Doesn't DRI2 require a newer Xserver too, like 1.5.99?
