I've been using the intel driver by forcing it as was suggested to me
some time ago and haven't had any crash since then.

but yeah I could disable the force (, luke) and see if I can reproduce
the bug again with the newer package versions.

I'll see if I can do that on sunday

Note that I'm still at 2:1.19.0-3 (as at the time when I reported the
issue). So the problem was fixed by something different.

Best regards
Uwe

Bug#858032: xkb-data 2.19-1 gives error message at start up

2017-03-17 Thread G. Heine
Package: xkb-data
Version: 2.19-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

updating xkb-data from 2.18-1 to 2.19-1 lead to an error message being shown
every time at start up.
Error message says "Fehler beim Konfigurieren der XKB-Konfiguration"
(Error when activating XKB-configuration).
Up to now I did not notice any problem with the keyboard's functionality, just
the error message.

Version of X-Server:
The X.Org Foundation
11902000

~$ xprop -root | grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "de", "", ""
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "de", "", ""

~$ gsettings list-keys org.mate.peripherals-keyboard-xkb.kbd

Bug#837451: xserver-xorg-core: visual flashes followed by hard crash upon keyboard interaction with thinkpad x201

2017-03-17 Thread bertagaz
Hi,

Uwe reported that with a newest release of xserver-xorg-core, the
bug disappeared. [1]

There has been new uploads recently in Stretch and Sid, which now have
2:1.19.2-1 and 2:1.19.3-1 respectively.

Is one of this versions the one supposed to have "fixed" the bug?

Could be helpfull if someone (lelutin?) gives a try back with the newest
modsetting driver so that we know if it eventually works.

bert.
