Re: [Declude.JunkMail] SPF logs

2005-01-16 Thread R. Scott Perry

Just noticed that the SPF logs that were stored in C:\ are gone. Did
they get moved or where they done away with?
They were done away with. They were part of the beta testing of SPF.

Ouch, that's not good. Don't like logs that I don't know about and could
later cause disk space issues...especially logging to the system drive.
Thanks for bringing this up, Serge.

Scott, can this be disabled? Or at least moved?

Darin.

Maybe this was discussed before, but i have spf.log and spf.none growing in
c:\

what to do about these ? why aren't they included in the regular declude
logs ?

Also, my clients sending email thru my server are falling spf ? should i
add all my internal addresses to my spf dns records ?

Because they are not appropriate for the regular Declude logs. The SPF
logging was added when the SPF support was first added, and helps a lot
with diagnostic issues. However, it will likely be removed (or moved to
the MID/HIGH logging in the standard log files) before the next release.

Also, my clients sending email thru my server are falling spf ? should i
add all my internal addresses to my spf dns records ?
That is correct. If you say that legitimate E-mail from your domain can
only come from your mailserver, then E-mail from your users will fail SPF
unless they are whitelisted (since their E-mail is not coming from your
mailserver, it is coming from their IP).
