RE: [Declude.Virus] Question about Imial and Declude

2002-04-04 Thread Michael Hardrick

We are running a Dual-1Ghz Intel machine w/1.0GB ram...
No crashes, and have not had to reboot in months...
Running Windows NT sp6.0a We tried it on win2k and
had a few problems, but moving back to NT fixed them.
Granted, our volume of mail is not very high. We only
process an average of 45k to 50k messages a day on
two hundred domains. I figured we needed to build a
machine that didn't need upgrading for a good while.
It's been working great with IMail and Declude.

Hey,

Since we have been runnining Declude we have had to reboot the Imail
server
about every couple of days. It seems that mail is not getting in.
After we
reboot the mail that got stuck in LaLa land comes thru. Has anyone else
had
this problem? We are thinking about getting a more powerful server to
put
Imail on.

Bennie

RE: [Declude.Virus] F-Prot error?

2002-02-02 Thread Michael Hardrick

Greetings,
I fixed the same issue by going to symantec and downloading
the latest version of this file... it's in a patch they have
on their site. Once you d/l and install the patch, it will fix
the problem.

Here are some links to help...
1. the patch:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/symevnt/sevinst.exe
2. referance: http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/symevnt/symevnt.html

Since installing Declude three days ago, I have twice found my server
sitting with the attached message box showing on the desktop. The only
Symantec product running on the server is PCAnywhere. Anyone have any
clues?

This actually isn't an F-Prot issue. If you go to
http://service2.symantec.com/SUPPORT/pca.nsf/docid/1997728113 , you'll see
that the S32EVNT1.DLL file is used by PC Anywhere. It also appears to be
used by other Symantec products. It seems that one of the Symantec
programs is not set up properly, so that it won't allow command line
programs to be run.

I would recommend contacting Symantec to see how to fix this.

F-Prot is version 3.11 - I've definitely seen other variants of Badtrans,
and this one, .enc. get caught in the past.

At 11:47 AM 2/1/2002, you wrote:

* I'm running Declude 1.34 with F-prot with definitions dated 1/28/02.
The version of Badtrans that was caught by Norton on the desktop was
reported as [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Which version of F-Prot? You need 3.11 in order to catch some variants of
Badtrans.
