Hi all,
Our company is looking at making our application multi-lingual sometime
in the near future. I did spend a bit of time previously looking into
this and we started using a program called POedit (
http://www.poedit.net/ ) to get the strings extracted for use with an
external translator.
Well it sounds like D2009 is the one to look at.
Was anyone on the list at the David I presentation on D2009 earlier in the week
- I was in Chch so was unable to be there? Apparently he spent quite some
time talking about the issues around converting to Unicode.
I would be interested in
better still, did anyone video it like was requested by a few people. Happy
to send a blank DVD and return courier bag etc.

internationalise your application with Delphi 2009. You can easily export your
Application`s Strings Resource, and in conjunction with a distributable tool
for translators that uses this, the
The way to internationalise an application within Delphi hasn't
changed for a long time. In Delphi 2009 they actually put some effort
into fixing some of the bugs in it though.

If you are wanting a detailed summary of what's new in D2009 - you
should buy Marco Cantu's book (you'll learn more than you ever wanted to
know about Unicode - the first 3 chapters about 100 pages). You get an
electronic copy free with D2009 - which you can't print out. You can
