What I do is copy the jars from some release distro into the jars/sane
directory of my development sandbox and then just run regression tests

I successfully used the 10.16.1.1 release with OpenJDK 17 on Ubuntu 18,
and with Oracle JDK 17 on Windows 10. On both platforms I also verified
that attempting to use the 10.16.1.1 release with older versions of Java,
including Java
