It seems to me that it would be very sad and bad karma to have our logo under
such a cloud of suspicion. So I would like to call a vote to reject this
tally. I've heard lots of great ideas on how to resolve this issue either
technologically or socially but I think first we need to establish that this
tally is incorrect. Then if we agree to reject, ensuing discussions can
determine how to best choose a logo.

Vote
+1 Reject the tally. New method of choosing a logo is determined by the
community.
-1 Not to reject the tally. Keep the vote tally as is with 32 as the winner.

2005-03-25 Thread Jeremy Boynes
The problem I saw was that people may have been influenced by the
questionable votes potentially skewing the result further (for or
against). The only fair option is to discard all and try again,
lamenting the huge waste of time this caused.

My pragmatic side also says that the second place tally was for "None of
the above" so we would not reach closure anyway.

Veto really applies to technical issues. This vote is really consensus

To be honest, I'd be content with any of the logos that got more than 2
votes in the first round -- and even some of the ones that got only 2.
It's nice to see so much talent in this community.

The most important thing to me is that the _derby_community_ choose its
logo, including the community lurkers like Darcy. :-) I spoke up
yesterday when I posted this below because I lost confidence that it was
the community making the choice:

The sudden flood of votes for a specific logo yesterday looked kind of odd, especially the one from "noname nolastname", and I'm concerned we might be getting votes from people who joined the list just to cast a vote.
