I like the idea of being able to download 3D objects for use in documents, but they should be uploaded and downloaded as 3D object files, not extensions, unless you are installing a 3D object library, only then does an extension make sense. My reasoning is based on a few technical and UX reasons.

Bastian's request was to prepare a section for extensions. And since I'm trying to push this topic I care rather about the idea than a particular format. So if JSON and KMZ is okay from your side we should allow people to upload their stuff. Guess infra will not prostrate by the huge interest
