This bug is confirmed on my Sony Vaio Laptop with Feisty. Not even
editing the profiles is impossible, but also trying to close any of the
three open sound-juicer windows afterwards. So the only way that remains
is to look for the running sound-juicer process in the console (ps ax |
grep
I haven't provided the infomation because I don't know how to get it.
But that doesn't invalidate the bug (it just invalidates me :-) )

The problem was an old XGL configuration that had belonged to Egdy. I
removed it from /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom, and now there is no problem
anymore.
However, I found the error message quite confusing. Of course there is
no file named custom.conf, so the Make sure that the file exists

used to work OK, but some update about 2 weeks ago broke their functionality.

from your description it looks like that the Switch User didn't bring
you to the gdm login dialog but to the gnome-screensaver unlock dialog,
can you confirm that? Could you try to run gdmflexiserver --startnew
from a command line and note to a comment if it works and what it's
printing?

I'm not using any visualisation/effects. It's enough that the Visualisation
plugin is enabled in the Configure plugins. It doesn't have to be active.
Moreover Rhythmbox is hidden (Ctrl+W).
At first I had no idea that Rhythmbox is causing my problems with mplayer and I
was wondering what's wrong

When invoked from nautilus-sendto, evolution should show the progress dialog
for sending the message
Will forward upstream, however a little context on use cases is missing
here: for example, I send-to a file, click on send, the window
closes. I don't think about that since I am in a hurry, suspend my
laptop and go to work. I come back in the evening and discover my file
is still in my computer
