Steps to reproduce:
Open nautilus, right click on a file/directory, choose Rename, then
press ctrl+space to invoke scim, you'll find that scim is not showing

On ubuntu 7.04 I had a crash on the volume control when I closed it after the
changes I made
The changes were muting pcm and master
and adding LFE, Capture Mux and InputSource in the preferences menu.
Then after closing it crashed
I'd like to withdraw my statement that it works in Debian, which is
_not_ true. Debians OO.o and gnomevfs (whichever is the problem) suffer
from the same issue.
But, as stated above, gedit does open/save files on a sftp share if
either owner or group has read permission, like one would expect it.
I get the exact same issue as originally posted. Bug-buddy report
