I have a similar problem. When trying to disconnect/unmount my usb hard
drive (Samsung SpinPoint) by right-clicking the icon on the desktop, I
get the 'cannot eject volume' error message and the drive reopens.
The only way to unmount the volume for me is using the console:
sudo umount /media/disk

I hadn't tried this the last week or so, but it seems to be fixed now.
I'm not sure what was causing it, have any parts of gstreamer been
updated? I don't think totem itself has been updated. Anyhow, i've put
it on rejected since, it is not reproduceable anymore.

After changing the theme using gconf-editor
(/apps/notification-daemon/theme) from ubuntu to Ubuntu, everything works
again.

After reporting this bug, I used Evolution to check my email. I noticed
that the Exchange portion of my mail (which I use to check into work
email) wasn't being displayed. So after typing evolution --force-

(/apps/notification-daemon/theme) from ubuntu to Ubuntu, everything
works again.

with totem? Not confirming since you seem to be the only one to get the

I've just done an install of AMD-64 Alternate CD (to get RAID), using the
nightly build (28th July) of gutsy. No graphical login appeared, so I had to
install and start sshd by blind typing. The problem is very simple:
1) /etc/init.d/gdm refers
Generally its the developers who look into this :)
I think the Canonical admins have other things to do :)
