backlight.
The function keys increase/decrease the brightness as normal, but the Power
Manager Brightness Applet still can't control the brightness, and I don't see

Rebooting didn't help, I am not able to restore my settings anymore. If
I open the gnome theme manager, I can see that settings are correct
there, just they aren't being used.

I have a similar problem too. Here is my attached valgrind output after running
for a an hour or so running some compiles so lots of scroll buffer.
Konsole and other terminal emulators don't exhibit this large memory usage, but
xfce-terminal does. Does it have shared code with gnome-terminal?

nautilus-data is build along with i386, amd64-packages still need
building. Wait a few hours, until nautilus will be available for your
architekture. meanwhile try to fetch the previous version of nautilus-
data, eg. from http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/nautilus

gstreamer0.10-plugins-good says: Bring the v4l2 code up to ~ current
CVS - the 0.10.6 version seems to handle various hardware badly (such as
the USB iSight), I guess this solves it then. That was really fast!

not occur if compiz is disabled. This fix is either going to be a
workaround or a wait-on-nvidia deal. I still recommend compiz being

cursor is about 2 pixels high... furthermore the zoom in (CTRL + +)

If gnome-screensaver isn't root during authentication, then how does an
ordinary password work? They are stored in a root readable file
/etc/shadow. Whatever credential switching that is done in order for
ordinary passwords to work could also be done for thinkfinger to work.

OK, it just seems weird to have a Desktop Entry for something which
doesn't work unless another package is installed.
Perhaps we need a gdm-in-window package that provides this Desktop Entry
along with a dependency on xserver-xephyr | xnest and gdm.

That's not a bug, data packages are common to all architectures and
built on i386, the amd64 might be slower in which case the update needs
to wait during the delay. You should use upgrade and not dist-upgrade to
avoid removing packages you are using

Desktop Bugs,
Another me too. If you slowly click on a tab for one of the open files it
seems to be OK. So if you wait for the
tooltip to come up or maybe just before it comes up.
But when you forget and go to one of the tabs and click - kaboom!
Patch solves it.
