I'm sorry, but I really think this is a grave bug and not a support problem.
The Virtual entry for the xorg.conf file is well documented and necessary
for using a dual screen configuration with xrandr (and X alone works without
problems with it).
The problem only
The X server input drivers are in flux at the moment, it will stabilise
before Beta, have no fear :-)
What's happening is that your touchpad is being handled by the correct
touchpad driver when it works, but a generic mouse driver when it
doesn't.

I had the same issue.
The problem was that I had a *.desktop starter-file owned and only accessable
by root.
After changing the permissions so the user could read it, nautilus started
without crash.
But this is just a workaround!

I also happen to have this bug. I'm using hardy. When I choose the
resources tab, the cpu hops up to 60% usage (Turion 2.2 ghz, ATI with
fglrx drivers). I think it's the new graph engine (with white
background) that has a problem, because the previous version (black
background) was working

personally bootchart won't do anything for me since the problem is not
on booting but on gnome login. I believe someone above was able to make
it work all the way through the desktop loading, but i don't think i
have the technical skills to make that work. If there is an easier way
