Not on my system (Ubuntu Gutsy i386 w/Compiz enabled)...
This was a matter of preference last time it came up in a bug report,
IIRC. I dunno if any Gnome/Ubuntu people are even willing to fix it
since, to some, it's not really a bug.

Binary package hint: evince
When you open a PDF or PS file with evince from a browser (problem
occurs with Firefox and Epiphany), the window positioning is off. Half
of the window is off the screen (at the bottom and to the right).
This only occurs with Compiz and not with

Simply no
I appreciate you trying to make Ubuntu better.
I have no idea what you are saying. I don't know what IIRC means and I
don't know where files crash.

Hi,
I have seen this too, although I'm not positive that
it is evince's fault.
What seems to happen is that evince loads and uses
a small size, which is lined up with the right edge of the
desktop. It then loads the document, expands to fit it, and
this expansion pushes it off the screen.

Sorry James. You should be able to navigate to /var/crash and double-click
on any .crash files listed there, but you
I can confirm this behavior as well, and that it is somewhat annoying.
I've added compiz to this bug report.
