I HAD the same problem on a newly installed hardy heron. This is what
fixed it:
Went to appearance preferences, visual effects, chose normal. Nvidia-glx
started to install. After it did, this bug was gone.

gnome-system-monitor resources graphs unstable on window resize
I would like to do that, but there is no rhythmbox crash file. Rhythmbox
shuts down as if I had closed it and there is no crash report dialog,

I am seeing this effect when I attempt to open GIMP xcf files from the
Recent Documents menu.

Unable to submit crash report there isn't one.
Reinstalled GDM which fixed problem here until reboot when it returns,still get
'CRITICAL: Error...' if sudo gdmsetup run from terminal.

When I am Composing a new message and use the To: button to add a
contact to the message it does not show my personal Conatcts even though
in Preferences / Auto Completion and Mail Preferences/Automatic Contacts

I made some experiments with some files having top running alongside and
ready to fire `pkill nautilus`: looks like I found a testcase to
reproduce this. Make a directory, put video file in mkv container
(matroska) into it (mv file to that directory with shell) and watch for
nautilus eating

The bug is really confusing, gconf is a database where keys have values,
gconf-editor is a graphical editor to change those. If you browse any
key, edit its value and gconf get the update value the system works
correctly. Now how whatever application is using what is stored that is
whatever
I am attempting to reproduce the problem. I haven't looked at the stack
traces yet.
Bug #204882 is interesting because the two pieces of theme code given
(it would have been useful to have an entire theme attached for problems

Just tried to attach strace to running (and leaking) nautilus. First and
last 15 lines of strace output attached; total number of lines was
100k (19Mb file).
P.S.: Note timestamps in attach -- total strace runtime was only about 9
seconds.

You can disable all the buttons in the gdmsetup. Go to System / Administration
/ Login Screen Setup (or sudo gdmsetup). On the Login Local tab, disable
the property for the Action Menu.
It is also possible to change single buttons. Check the file /etc/gdm/gdm.conf,
