I did not add a trace. What I noted in the post above the one you
replied to is that while strace is tracing evolution it does not hang.

the problem. I would venture to say that the original bug was confirmed
long ago and fixed.
I would't know, though, because Ubuntu shipped a default app which
after looking a bit closer, i found that upstream introduced some typos.

tried both gvfs-mount and gvfs-ls, but the latter command listed

Here's what I've observed from some crazy experiments. I've noticed
that Evolution 2.22, regardless when using it on a normal Ubuntu install
or on a LTSP thin client, it is more sluggish than the Evolution 2.12
found in Gusty, for the very same reasons stated above. It seems to
take two seconds
