Also running 2.26.1 and ubuntu 9.04 Recurring event do not show up properly for me either. Some do and some don't. I'm guessing here but maybe it's do to with a recurring event being set up which displays ok, but then if you make an one off change to 1 of the recurring events, then it screws it
